How do I calculate time differences between cities?
Subtract each city's UTC offset from the other. For example, Tokyo (UTC+9) is 14 hours ahead of New York (UTC−5) in winter. Use the Time Zone Converter for exact results including DST.
Why do some cities share the same time?
Many cities share a UTC offset. For example, London, Dublin, and Lisbon are all at UTC+0 in winter. Tokyo and Seoul are both UTC+9 year-round. Shared offsets don't always mean identical time year-round since DST rules vary by country — use the time zones index to check each zone's DST status.
